The whole mosaic of spatial and development problems, in a special way, deepens the existing and imposes new challenges for local communities, which motivated us to, in addition to traditional topics related to the legal and institutional framework of planning and arrangement of space and settlements, as well as creating spatial and urban plans, this time we pay special attention to the issue of defining public interest in spatial and urban planning, rural development planning, as well as the impact of demographic and migration processes on the development of local communities.

In that regard, we expect that the practical experiences and conclusions that will be presented will provide a quality basis for the advancement and development of science and practice and make a significant contribution to management structures at all levels of government, especially local authorities in solving problems that they have been facing.

In parallel with the Conference, the exhibition Planners Networking 4 will be organized, where spatial and urban planning institutions from Serbia and the surrounding countries will have the opportunity to present planning documents of all levels adopted in the period from 2018 to 2022.

Positive experiences from the previous eight conferences are a good precondition for organizing another successful one.

Therefore, having in mind the importance and actuality of the topics, we invite you to take part in the conference and contribute to its successful implementation and formation of quality conclusions that will enable further affirmation and improvement of planning and arrangement of space and development of local self-government.

Three faculties of the University of Belgrade - Geography, Civil Engineering and Physics together with the Institute of Geography SASA and MedCLIVAR network (Mediterranean Climate Variability and Predictability) organized the Conference on Climate change in Belgrade between 17^th and 22^nd September 2018.

The MedCLIVAR 2018 Conference offered to researchers from all relevant fields the opportunity to address questions on the climate of the Mediterranean region in the past, present and future including its societal impacts, and climate services.

The main idea of the MedCLIVAR 2018 Conference was creating bridges between scientists, research groups, and scholars dealing with typical Mediterranean climates that are characterizing areas of California, central Chile, the Western Cape of South Africa, and Southwestern Australia.

The Conference gathered 130 participants from all over the world, including some coming from prestigious universities such as University of California Berkeley and Columbia University.

The opening ceremony was deducted to the story of Milutin Milankovic.

The night-time city has been the subject of both romanticising and commodification. Efforts to politicise, monetise, police and reclaim it have been intensifying in many cities worldwide. From quantifying the value of a night-time economy to campaigning for night-time public transport, various urban actors have sought to shape how the night is governed, and to what ends.

This conference seeks to bring together geographically diverse contributions on the urban night, from academia and beyond. Our aim is to provide a space for critical debate across a range of perspectives on urban night governance; to identify opportunities for international collaboration; and to promote engaged academic research. In particular, the event seeks to generate dialogue between diverse disciplines and/or research topics, identifying connections across aspects of the night-time, from transport to culture and from gender to tourism.

Contributions can take the form of either 15-minute conference papers or posters, although we are also open to discussing other formats.

The topics include, but are not limited to:

- Governance and contestation of the urban night;
- Night-time transport, including public transport at night; delivery services and logistics; ride-hailing;
- Night-time work;
- Safety and diversity n in the night-time city: income, age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, (dis)ability;
- Tourism, leisure and culture;
- Illumination, sound and design.

A keynote lecture will be given by Prof Marion Roberts (University of Westminster) and Prof Dr Ger Duijzings (University of Regensburg). The event will also include a workshop for civil society representatives to serve as a platform for future collaboration.

To take part in this event, please submit an abstract of 300 words no later than Wednesday, 31 January, 2018.

The language of the conference is English.

The 25 euro registration fee covers lunch and refreshments on both days, as well as an optional excursion on Saturday 9 June. A limited number of bursaries will be offered to local and international presenters including a registration fee waiver and a small contribution towards participation costs. Please mention if you would like to be considered for a bursary when submitting an abstract.
