Mastering the epistemology of modern demography.
Students need to master modern theories, methods and models in the field of demography.
Theoretical lectures
Doctrines and theories in demography; Growth limits and population optimization issues; Theories of demographic transition; Methods of estimation, projection and population forecasting; Sources of population data and methodological problems of comparability of data sources; Methodology of migration research - problems of traditional and contemporary migration of the population (economic migration, forced migration, daily migration systems, seasonal population movements, etc.); Differentiation of social mobility of the population; Types of regional growth and modern tendencies in concentration and dispersion of the population; Economic development and population; Ethnicity theories and differentiation of components of demographic development by ethno-demographic systems.
