Empowering the staff that are necessary for society in order to harmonize economic, social and cultural development and environmental constraints.

Knowledge of the basic elements that form the concept of sustainable development.

Theoretical lectures

  1. Sustainable development: The concept, theoretical aspect, genesis and the concept of sustainable development.
  2. Concept of sustainable development: Multidimensional linkage of economic, social and cultural development and compliance with environmental needs and constraints. Policy and goals of sustainable development.
  3. The concept of sustainable development of the European Union and the United Nations: Standards and rules. The importance of a global concept for contribution to environmental conservation.
  4. Integrated environmental protection and biodiversity protection: Principles of integrity in the function of biodiversity protection.
  5. Socio-economic aspects of environmental protection: The relation of the society towards the environment (economy "boundaries", depth ecology, resource management). Sustainable development in economic theory (principles of modern economics) and instruments of regulation.
  6. The role of international organizations and institutions in realizing the concept of sustainable development: UN General Assembly (UN GA), UN ECOSOC, UN ECE, UNEP, UNDP, UNIDO, FAO, UNICEF, HABITAT...
  7. The role of international financial institutions: The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB).
  8. Regional cooperation and international experience in implementing the concept of sustainable development: the role of the EU, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the experiences of developed countries, the specificities of countries in transition.
  9. Realizing the concept of sustainable development - Renewable and non-renewable energy sources in Serbia: Prerequisites for sustainable development, sectoral and branch development. The importance of renewable sources.
  10. Energy resources in Serbia - Fossil potentials: state of energy resources in Serbia.
  11. Potentials of biomass as a source of energy in Serbia: Significance of biomass, action plan, agricultural biomass, biomass in forestry, organic waste.
  12. Significance of gaseous and liquid biofuels: Production and advantages of gaseous and liquid fuels, biogas, landfill gas, bioethanol, biodiesel.
  13. Significance of wood biomass: Types of wood biomass in Serbia, pellets and briquettes, energy plantations.
  14. Environmental pollution by combustion of fossil fuels and global climate change: Heating of the climate, greenhouse effect, carbon dioxide accumulation in the atmosphere, Kyoto Protocol.
  15. Serbia's energy policy in the field of renewable sources and sustainable development: Legal frameworks and standards, energy sustainability, sustainability of agriculture.

Practical lectures

To create a idea to the Students about the significance and essence of sustainable development. Sustainable Development Strategy. Ecological energy sources in the function of sustainable development. Examples of organic energy to understand the essence of sustainable development.
