The goal of Thematic mapping is a quantitative and qualitative research and gaining knowledge about the state and changes of the spatial object matter using a cartographic method.
Modeling of geo-spatial elements in the form of indicators, which are not included in general geographic maps and graphical presentation of the differences in numerical expressions of the specificity of the treated content of the object. Numerical values are purposefully arranged series.

Thematic cartography, definition; Thematic maps, concept and division; Elements of map quality; Map content structure; Cartographic expressive means; Signs: the morphology of the sign, the cartographic language, the semantics of the cartographic language; Semi-portrait thematic cartography: Types of semi-transparent mapping; Methods of thematic cartography; Geoicon simbology.
Practical lectures
Polar Exposure of Landform Charts (analytical charts); Map of warm and cold landform exposures (synthesis map); Polar charts of warm and cold exposures; Angles of inclination, tilting gauge, charts: transversal profile, hypsometric curve; Differentiated, comparative and unified form of semi-proportional; ; Method of cartograms; Method of points; Method of signs; Color method.
