The objective of the course is the studying of theory and methodology of regional geography.
Empirical research of regions and team work on multidisciplinary projects of regional development.

Definition of regions in modern regional geography; Methodology of regional geography; Systemic approach in regional researching; Scientific goals and social tasks of regional geography; Regionalization and regional development; Theory of location and regional development; Physiognomic classification of regions; Functional classification of regions; Regions in spatial planning; Ecological concept in regional research; Economic principle in regional research; Planning of spatial structure and regional development; Population as a factor of regional development; Economic activities as a factor of regional transformation; Future regional development and revival of rural areas.
