Acquiring knowledge about fundamental concepts and categories of a contemporary society. Creation of critical thinking and understanding of basic determinants of social life in a developmental and comparative perspective.
Training students for independent research and recognitionof the factors and forming the values and attitudes indispensable for the future demographer.
Theoretical lectures
Analysis of the basic concepts. Elements of social structure. Social study of space. Types of societies. Transition of occupational structure and employment models in modern societies. Processes of society modernization. Social power and models of social mobility. Social grouping in traditional and modern societies. Function of state in social development. The notion, elements and functions of cultural patterns in modern societies. Family. Personality and social development. Identity. The crisis of self.
Practical lcctures
Globalization and social trends. Demographic development and social development. Inclusion, discrimination and vulnerable social groups. Social status of women. Domestic violence. Poverty and addiction diseases.
