Introducing students with the phenomenon of rural space and the significance of its planning and arrangement. Recognition of agrarian space and its structure from global to micro-regional level. Understanding the attributes of the village “atars“ as a unit of agrarian space. Acquiring knowledge about the distribution of agricultural production and its key importance for the planning and arrangement of the agricultural area.

The outcome of the course will be to train a student to use modern methods and techniques in planning rural and agrarian areas and practical application of acquired knowledge on examples of concrete plans and studies in Serbia.

Theoretical lectures

Concept, definition, structure, differentiation problems and principles of the boundary of agrarian space; methodological procedure for studying the agricultural area; basic theories about the organization of agricultural land and the allocation of agriculture; distribution of agricultural land; Planning and arranging of the village „atars“; rural atar as an agrarian-geographical category; rural and ataric roads; planning aspects of socio-economic and agrarian relations; the allocation of agriculture from the point of view of planning and arrangement of the agricultural area; typology of agriculture as a schematic projection of structural agrarian space; the impact of agricultural land on agrarian markets, the effects of planning and regulation of the agricultural area; planning of rural village equipment; alternative activities to agriculture, protection of space; strategic documents of rural development of the EU, strategic documents of rural development in Serbia, rural development in planning documents of Serbia.

Practical lectures

Spatial definition, bounding and structural analysis of the agrarian area of ​​the municipality; review of the previous activities in the planning and arrangement of rural settlements and atari in the municipality; analysis of positions, types, boundaries, structures, pacelets and other characteristics of village „atars“; changes in the cadastral structure of the land fund; production organization of the agrarian area of ​​the municipality; specialization and market orientation of agrarian production and agricultural area of ​​the municipality
