Introducing with the specifics of the planning of tourist areas, national parks, energy and hydro-technical complexes and systems, infrastructure corridors, areas with significant natural and cultural heritage, areas of reservoirs and water sources, mining and energy facilities, etc., areas with a specific purpose of national importance, as well as with the dominant planning principles that favor this purpose in relation to other users of space.

Acquiring the basic methods and techniques that are relevant today from the standpoint of the world and European standards, as well as with the planning theories and practices in the planning of a special purpose area in Serbia.

Theoretical lectures

The concept, definition and understanding of special purpose areas in spatial planning, in the world and Serbia. History and traditional approaches to the planning of areas with a special purpose. Relation to other types of plans. Types of special purpose areas and their basic characteristics. Objectives and specific priorities and problems of planning areas with a special purpose. Basic methods and techniques for the planning of a special purpose area: general and specific (depending on the type of area). Planning development approach, major structural changes and conversion of current land use, aims and priorities of development. Review of the planning practice in Serbia. Implications of new European documents for sustainable spatial development on the design and planning of special purpose areas.

Practical lectures

Creation and presentation of seminar paper with a selected theme from the lecture program - getting acquainted with a wide range of literature, analysis and diagnosis of problems, specific planning responses and instruments.
