Introducing students with the influence of natural conditions on the optimal living needs of the population, economic activities and the quality of the environment. Getting to know the factors of changes in natural conditions on the Earth.

Understanding the phenomenon and processes caused by interaction of natural conditions and population (the occurrence of natural disasters, methods of protection against natural disasters).

Theoretical lectures

1. Learning about the subject matter and the obligations of students of the given course. 2. Definition, classification and importance of natural conditions; Definition, classification and consequences of natural disasters. 3. Geological settings as a natural condition; Engineering-geological characteristics of the geological structure; Factors of changing geological conditions: natural factors; Factors changes of geological conditions: anthropogenic factor. 5. Litospheric disasters: tectonic movements, volcanism, seismism; The impact of asteroids, comets and meteorites. 6. Soil as a natural condition; Factors of changing in soil conditions: natural factors; Factors of changes in soil conditions: anthropogenic factor. 7. Relief conditions: hypsometry, vertical and horizontal dissection of the relief, slope; Factors of changing of relief conditions: natural factors; Factors of changes of relief conditions: anthropogenic factor. 8. Geomorphologic disasters: rockfalls, landslides, subsidence. 9. Climate conditions; Climate change factors: natural factors; Climate change factors: anthropogenic factor. 10. Climatic disasters. 11.
