A tourism destination is a spatial-market category that occupies a key place in the contemporary system of tourism development. Bearing in mind the enormous importance of tourism destinations for successful tourism business, this course specifically addresses the following issues: an interpretation of the way of functioning of all elements making up the system of tourism destination; considering the complex relationships between a destination as a system and its environment.
Students will acquire knowledge on the most important ways and techniques of management, through which heterogeneous and often conflicting interests between tourism industry, tourists and domicile population in destinationscan bereconciled; Students will be trained to interpret in an integral way the development of tourism and other activities in destinations, adopting basic principles, activities and techniques for managing these complex systems.
