The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the domain principles and phases of the land use planning process.
Aquiring the knowledge about the context, role, principles, perspectives and prosepcts of land use planning, as well as its methods and techniques.
Theoretical lectures
The concept, definitions and understanding of land-use planning in the world and in Serbia; Approaches and planning systems; Basic principles of land use planning; Objectives, specific priorities and problems of land use planning; General conditions for land use planning; Land use classification; Forms of property; Sectoral policies that affect land use planning; The issue of sustainable development in land use planning; Basic methods and techniques of land use planning; Land use models; Phases of land use planning; Implementation of land use plans; Land use planning and building permits in some EU countries; A review of the practice and legislation in Serbia.
Practical lectures
Creation and presentation of seminar paper with a selected theme from the lecture program - getting acquainted with a wide range of literature, analysis and diagnosis of problems, specific planning responses and instruments.
