This course is designed to help students understand the key theories, empirical patterns, and contemporary debates in the study of human capital and human resources.

After completing the course, the student is expected to be able to explain the impact of education for economy and sustainable development. Gaining practical knowledge on the basis of which students will be able to get involved in the enterprise management process, especially in the human resources sector.

Labour force, human capital and human resources. Human capital theories. Social capital. Human resource management. Quantitative and qualitative indicators of human resources. Global human resources. Historical context in the development of human resources. Regional patterns of education. Knowledge and skills for the new economy. Supply-demand equilibrium in labour market. International and Serbian perspectives. Human resources in public policies. The impact of human resources on socioeconomic development and vice versa. Management of human resources. Job analysis and human resource developing and planning. Strategical management of human resources.
