  • Level of study master academic studies
  • Subject status: obligatory
  • ECTS: 7
  • Semester: I
  • Number of classes: 3+0

Getting acquainted with the possibilities of applying GIS in geospatial analysis and modelling. Mastering the skills and techniques necessary for the quantitative analysis of geospatial data. Analyzing natural and socio-economic geospatial components. Getting acquainted with methods by which the application of acquired knowledge in decision making will be possible.

Training students for adequate geospatial analysis, designing, creating and implementing projects, using knowledge, skills, GIS software and geospatial data sources. Developing awareness of the importance of applying GIS in decision making.

Spatial and network analysis; Creating queries; Map algebra; 3D modeling; Space-time (4D) modeling; Modeling of geospatial processes; Modeling the Earth's surface; Topographic analysis; Line of visibility and viewshed analysis; Analysis of river basins and watercourses; Neighborhood and proximity operators; Analysis of spatial clusters; Spatial analysis of costs/price; Optimal routes; Spatial decision support systems (SDSS); Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA); Analytical hierarchical process (AHP).
