The aim of the subject is to view the population – a biosocial category, as the integral part of the geosystem and its subsystem of the geographical environment.
Enabling the studentsti view the demographic phenomena and processes in the correlation with the condition and processes in the geographical environment.
Theoretical lectures
Theoretical-methodological approaches in the application of the geosystemic analysis in demography. Geographical environment and geosphere. Determinants of geosystems and typology of geosystems. Geosystemic analysis and geosystemic synthesis.
Geographical environment as the complex and dynamic spatial-temporal system. Natural and social components of the geographical environment.
Population as the autonomous geographical, biological and social system.
The models of connections and relations of the systems of population and natural systems of geosphere. The models of connections and relations of the settlement systems and systems of population in the geographical environment. Population and economic systems. Population and global ecosystems. Micro, medium and macro regional systems and population.
Practical lectures
Interrelations and relations of population and geosystems, concrete illustrations of the characteristics of geosystems at the continental, regional and national levels. The illustrations of the spatial-temporal analysis of the interrelations of the population and other social systems of geosphere.
