The development of tourism in one area can be seen from several aspects and brings different effects. Tourism changes and transforms space, searches for its own spatial organization, brings many stimulating and perturbative factors into the development of the area. The work of tourism on the transformation of the space is a phenomenon of a recent date, connected with the massive development of tourism. The goal of this course is to introduce students with a set of questions relevant for acquaintance, planning and management of the tourist area, as a subsystem of geospatial.
Acquiring knowledge on a complex of issues relevant to knowing, planning and management of the geospace and tourist space; Building the following subject-specific competencies of students: basic knowing and understanding of the tourist space, ability to solve concrete problems, using scientific methods and procedures, ability to connect knowledge from different areas of geospatial systems.
Theoretical lectures
The concept of geospatial and touristic space; Space-framework and goal of tourist movements; Space as a component of the tourist offer; Systematization and structure of tourist spatial units; Types and forms of tourist areas; Tourism as a factor of space transformation; Tourism and spatial planning; Managing the tourist area - managing a tourist destination; Spatial planning of tourism;
Practical lectures
Analysis of links and relations between space and tourism; The place of tourism in the spatial-planning regulation of Serbia; The role of logistics in spatial planning of tourism; Carrying capacity of tourist destinations; Harmonization of the spatial development of tourist destinations; Organization of tourist destinations; Creation and defense of essays on the principle of "Case Studies"; Indicators for monitoring the effects of tourism in space; Planning tourism on examples of specific types of space (spa spots, coastal centers)
