Gaining knowledge about the concept and subject of ethnodemography, by researching the ethnic composition of the population and objective and subjective criteria for determining ethnic identity. Introduction to the racial composition of contemporary humanity, processes of racial differentiation, religious and linguistic structure of humanity and demographic development, with a special emphasis on reproduction of the population and birth control. Application of ethnodemographic research in population policy, regional development, national and state policy.

Application possibilities for applying specific demographic knowledge in the study of multiethnic communities and the importance of homogeneous demographic development.

Theoretical lectures

Subject and importance of ethnodemography. Sources of data and methodological problems of ethnodemographic research. Methodological solutions for identifying ethnic identity in demographic statistics. Theories of Ethnicity, Ethnic Groups and Their Boundaries.

Terms

Ethnic processes and ethno genesis, ethnic assimilation, ethnic mimicry, ethnicity consolidation and ethnic differentiation. Ethnodemographic systems in Serbia, problems of the dichotomous model of reproduction and divergent development of the population.

Practical lectures

Examples of the spatial structure of religious, racial and linguistic ethno-demographic systems (by countries and continents) Development of documentation materials (books, newsletters and other international and national publications that contain ethno-data, internet presentations, etc.) with a special focus on the countries of multiethnic composition.
