Students will learn about the cultural heritage of ancient and contemporary civilizations, the possibilities of it’s tourist valorization and the need for protection; Students will get to know the cultural specificities of individual nations and regions; Students will understand the link between the geography of cultures and civilizations and cultural tourism and they will get to know the peculiarities of the practical organization of cultural tourism.

Acquiring empirical knowledge of cultures and civilizations; forming of concepts, legality and theory of cultures and civilizations; Mastering methods of tourist valorization of cultural heritage in the world and in our country; Understanding the genesis and development of world cultures and civilizations and their role in tourism trends.

I. Cultural geography and cultural tourism. Theoretical introduction.
II. The notion of cultures and civilizations. Material and spiritual culture. Types of civilizations.
III. Types and organization of cultural tourism. Cultural paths. Protection of cultural heritage.
IV. Elements for studying cultures and civilizations (races, peoples, languages, religions)
V. Cultural Heritage of Ancient Civilizations (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Indus Valley, the Yellow River Valley).
VI. Ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean - Greece, Phoenician, Roman.
VII. Ancient cultures and civilizations of Mesoamerica and Anda (Olmeci, Asteci, Maya, Inca)
VIII. Ancient cultures and civilizations of Australia and Oceania
IX. Ancient and contemporary cultures and civilizations of sub-Saharan Africa
X. Cultures and Civilizations of the East Asia (Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asia)
XI. Indian civilization
