Potential benefits provided by information technology with practical study of the basic properties of using information technology and user software.

Acquiring knowledge of how computers work, how they have developed, how to use data and user programs that are necessary for working with textual, graphic, numerical data. Students will be able to independently prepare seminar work and adapt them in to the presentation.

  2. What is wisdom? What is an information system? What does a well-organized information system look like? What is a computer-based information system?
  3. What is technique and what technology? What is information technology? What is Informatics? What is a numeric system? What is code? Which measurement units are used in computer science?
  4. Computer anatomy
  5. What are the basic components of the computer? What are the basic subsystems of a hardware system? What does the conceptual diagram of a microcomputer look like?
  6. What does the processor do? What does a CPUs performance depend on? What is Moore's law? What requirements are placed on memory?
  7. What requirements are placed on the memory? What units are for measuring memory capacity? What is working memory? What are interfaces?
  8. How do we divide input devices? How can the output devices be divided?
  9. What role does external memory have? How have the trends in the development of computer systems changed throughout the generations?
  10. Software Support: What does software do? What are system software’s for?
  11. What role does the operating system have? Which functions do translator and utility programs perform? How can I share the software?
  12. How is software divided? What is standard user software for? What are the most important software packages?
  13. What are the advantages of a computer in relation to a typewriter? What advantages does the computer have in relation to the classic archive? What are tabular programs for?
  14. How can we divide graphic programs? How can we divide programming languages? Which languages ​​are used for programming WWW applications?

  1. Introductory class: Outlining the work routine, student’s duties and handing out tasks.
  2. Basics of operating systems.
  3. MS Word:
  4. Checking spelling and grammar, adding footers and page headers, numbering pages, inserting dates and times, working with tables in Word.
  5. Working with styles: Normal style, title styles, creating a new style; Creating an index; Creating foot-notes and end notes; Comparison and merging of documents.
  6. Preparation for practical work.
  7. Presentation and grading of practical work.
  8. MS Excel:
  9. Format worksheet: Create and edit formulas, assign names to cells and bands, converting text to columns, create and format tables and calculate it in the table, sorting data in tables.
  10. Creating a graphical data view. Worksheet design: Formatting numerical values, preparing and creating cell styles, conditional formatting, page setup, adding headers and footer sites, page break, setting and defining the print area.
  11. Preparation for practical work.
  12. Presentation and grading of practical work.
  13. MS PowerPoint: Creating and distributing a presentation using PowerPoint.
  14. Simulation of seminar work with textual, graphic and tabular data, linking with tables and charts from Excel (text break and preparation for printing).
  15. Making a PowerPoint presentation using a previously laid out text.
