Introducing students with all forms of water appearance on Earth and their basic characteristics. It should also point out all forms of water use, the most important water management problems, the protection of water resources and especially the hydrological problems of urban areas.
Empower students to produce planning documents in which they have to integrate water resources, knowing their specificities and correctly assessing their future.
Theoretical lectures
Basic properties of water; Groundwater; Rivers; Glaciers; Lakes; Swamps; The World Sea; Water use; Protection of water resources; River basins and watercourses arranging; Hydrological regionalisation and mapping; Hydrological forecasts; The impact of urbanization on water balance, erosion and water quality; Water potential of Serbia; Water Management Service of Serbia and legislation on water.
Practical lectures
Map creation of hydro contour lines and determination of the direction of groundwater movement. Determination of hydrometric elements of the river basin on the topographic map. Determination of the water balance of the basin. River water regime analysis. Flow curves creation. Analysis of the factors and causes of hydrological changes in the city territory. Hydrological regionalisation and mapping. Hydrological forecasts.
