Applied Climatology (NOPP11O3)

Getting acquainted with weather and climate processes on Earth. Climatic factors. Climate classifications. Climate changes. Urban climate.

In addition to gaining basic knowledge of climatology, students should be able to, as future planners or managers of the spatial plan, know the place, role and importance of climatological research for the needs of spatial planning.

Theoretical lectures

Atmosphere - boundaries and composition. Radiation - energy balance of the Earth. Air temperature. Air pressure. Winds. Evaporation and humidity. Clouds and cloudiness. Precipitation and snow cover. Air masses and fronts. Cyclones and anti-cyclones. Microclimate. Solar and real climate. Climate classifications. Applied climate classifications. Climate changes. Anthropogenic impacts on weather and climate. Acid rain. Ozone layer damage. Urbane climate. Cryptoclimate - indoor climate. Selection of the place of residential and industrial zone. Weather, climate and war.
