Anthropogenic Geomorphology (NOG22I2)
- Level of study undergraduate studies
- Teacher:
Ph.D. Sanja Manojlović
- Subject status: elective
- ECTS: 4
- Semester: IV
- Number of classes: 2
The objective of the course is to get students to know how different geomorphologic processes affect a person and his environment, and on the other hand how and in what way different human activities leave consequences on them.
The proper understanding of the process and the phenomenon of relief - man - relief, results in the direct provision of different types of geomorphological, geomorphometric and other data that have an invaluable value for adequate environmental management.
Theoretical lectures
1. Anthropogenic geomorphology - position and importance in the system of geographical disciplines and other sciences; 2. Geomorphology, human activity and global change in the environment; Systematic approach to the study of human and natural interations; 3. Interaction of the impact of human activities on relief and the environment: the influence of the incline processes on the emergence and disappearance of civilizations; exploitation of natural resources, surface mining, agricultural activities, traffic infrastructure, impact on tourism and sports activities; 4. Landslide: consequences of landslide impact on man and his environment - the influence of urine processes on the movement of population, housing units, infrastructure (transport, energy, water management) and economy; the influence of man on the landslide development - genetic factor (slope morphometry, slope water balance, purpose of land use), measures in the fight against soil sliding; 5 - 6. Denudation: anthropogenic effects on soil erosion - consequences of changing land use patterns; the influence of vegetation cover type on surface runoff and soil erosion due to different ways of using land; potential impacts of agricultural expansion on soil erosion, the impact of demographic and settlemental development tendencies on changes in the intensity of soil erosion; the impact of anti-erosion measures on the intensity of soil erosion; 7 - 8. Fluvial systems: analysis of the links between precipitation, runoff and land use for the transport of sediments to river flows; the influence of anthropogenic factors (construction of water accumulations, changes in the land use, conservation measures) on trends in the suspension of suspended deposits; the impact of the anthropogenic factor on the formation of deltas and the change of the coastal ecosystem; the movement of river beds, the causes of flooding the bottom of the river beds and the implications for the environment; 9-10. Karst and man: the interaction of man and hydrological systems in karst - specific circulation of karst groundwater and specially defined protection zones; surface runoff, high seasonal fluctuations in the springs of the spring to the lack of arable land as factors limiting the development of agriculture; sufosies and slides in karst of the implications for settlements and infrastructure; speleological objects and landscapes as a high aesthetic value and their potential importance for the protection of geoscientists and tourism; 11. Islands and shores: the interaction of man and nature in the coastal areas; the impact of modern technologies on the relief and development of coastal zones; 12. Glaciation, periglational processes and levels: living conditions in glacial and leveling areas; residential, commercial and traffic problems; 13. Arid areas, the influence of man and geomorphological change: desertification; protective belts - protection of settlements and agricultural surfaces; agricultural activities in arid and semiarid regions, anthropogenic factor and geomorphological changes on sand dunes; maximum utility of precipitation and surface waters in arid areas; 14. Anthropogenic geomorphology and urban development; 15. Presentation and defense of seminar paper works.
